Sketching it out with expert animators Damien and Richard!
Paper? Check! Pens? Check! Two experts on animation joining the Digital Making at Home live stream to talk to you about storytelling with technology? CHECK!
On this week’s stream, we drew connections between stories and tech, to show you how animators use computers to create some of your favorite animations. We had the pleasure of introducing you to Damien O’Connor and Richard Merrigan from Brown Bag Films based in Dublin, Ireland! They’ve worked on popular animations such as Doc McStuffins, Peter Rabbit, Vampirina, and more recently the Netflix film Angela’s Christmas Wish. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s the perfect film to watch with your family!
Damien and Richard also showed us how to use pen and paper to draw storyboards of our favourite fairy tales — an important step for turning a story into an animated film. Make sure to watch the recording of the live stream and give storyboarding a try too!
We’ll see live you next Wednesday for more Digital Making at Home with special guest Eben Upton, the co-inventor of the Raspberry Pi computer!
